REMEMBERING FR LEO STAPLES

With great sadness, we learned recently of the death of Fr Leo Staples. Fr Leo came from one of the most respected families of the county Wexford and the diocese of Ferns. Two of his brothers, Frank and Robert, were priests of our diocese with Leo opting to become a missionary priest with the Kiltegan Fathers. For many years, Fr Leo worked diligently in Kenya, serving the people until very near his death.

In the interview below, Maria Colfer from CMT spoke with Mr Eugene Doyle who visited Kenya some time ago and saw first-hand the great work that Fr Leo did in Kenya and the great ambassador he was for our diocese and county.

On behalf of all of us here at The Hook of Faith, we extend our deepest sympathy to the Staples family and salute one of our own - a dedicated and holy priest after his amazing life of service. 'Well done good and faithful servant. Come and join in your Master's happiness'.
